Vårt nye hjem: a journey of family, interior design and new memories.
“I have to admit: designing a house for yourself and your family is not an easy task. Even as an interior designer, it can be challenging to navigate the process without a sparring partner, without that mirror that helps you reflect, question and refine. At the same time, we knew as a family that this house had all the potential to become our new home. Especially during our emigration process; starting a new chapter in life, learning new traditions and a new language, the home base is essential for your wellbeing.
It was important that the house would truly support the way we live: space for family and friends to stay over, a home office, a generous kitchen (because we love cooking) and a comfortable teenage room for our son. Only a few, well-considered structural changes were needed. A new kitchen layout, thoughtful choices in colors and materials and discovering how artwork behaves differently on wooden panelled walls compared to the plastered surfaces we were used to, each decision shaped the house further.
Step by step, functionality and comfort came together in a place that reflects our personal taste and allows us to feel at ease. The result is a home that truly reflects who we are and with the final touches nearly complete, new memories are already being made. Welcome to our new home.”
