Transforming an apartment into a lifetime home.

“Margreet, a returning client and now a woman in a new phase of her life, was looking for a single-level apartment. Leaving her former home, filled with memories and the need to live without stairs made this project both personal and meaningful.

The apartment, overlooking both the city and surrounding green areas, proved to be a promising choice despite its unusual layout. The goal was to transform it into a place where Margreet could write, play the piano, enjoy the view, feel truly at home, store a lot of books, welcome friends, and occasionally host a sleepover. What immediately drew me to this apartment was the abundance of natural light from multiple sides and the opportunity to integrate the originally “hidden” kitchen into the living space. One of the main challenges was the apartment’s long, linear layout in the entrance, the living area and the bedroom. By playing with volumes and using a variety of materials and colors, I was able to create better proportions.

I am grateful to have been part of her journey and to have translated her wishes into a home where she can feel comfortable, at ease and fully supported. With the moving date set for early February, Margreet is looking forward to this new chapter in her life.”
