Project Ensemble
”Elsenoor and Mark purchased a four-story house that has yet to be built, with completion scheduled around the summer of 2027. As they entered the process at a later stage, several deadlines for submitting changes had already passed. At the same time, they did have ideas about how they want to live and work in their future home.
This called for a strategic approach. Within the given constraints, I explored how the house could be optimally aligned with their lifestyle needs. In doing so, I also challenged both Mark and Elsenoor to look at things from new perspectives.
The result is a plan in which each floor has been given its own function. On the ground floor, a spacious kitchen with a strong connection to the outdoor garden. The first floor is arranged as a living area with a separate library: a place for relaxation and quiet. The second floor accommodates two workspaces, designed for productivity. The top floor is fully dedicated to the “private suite”: a bedroom with an adjoining dressing area and sitting space. A key challenge in the design was to create the possibility to accommodate different kinds of moods on each floor. This ensures that every level of the home will truly be used. That goal has been achieved.
At this stage, the plans are with the contractor to be reviewed and included in the construction planning for actual implementation. To be continued.”
