“Lisa and Roel and their three children were looking for more space to live in. This newly built house offered exactly that opportunity. Since her brother had previously had an identical house designed by me, my curiosity was immediately piqued: how could I translate this similar house into a design that would be unique to their wishes?

I helped them map out their needs and must-haves and translated this into a functional layout over four floors. As the layout came to life with colors, materials, and interior designs, there were also some doubts. In my view, this is actually an opportunity to refine the design. Balancing “holding on” with “letting go” and “trusting the process” an even more personal result had been developed.

The outcome of this project turned out to be completely different from the design for her brother: the same basic structure, but a unique layout, functionality, and atmosphere that perfectly reflect Lisa and Roel and their kids. They have recently moved in, and the results will soon be featured in the Portfolio.”
